The diagnosis

Today we met with the Rheumatologist (a doctor who specialies in soft tissues) at Cincinnati Childrens and final got a diagnosis that we believe to be what Connor has. Acrocyanosis. The root word, Cyanosis is the blueing of skin that is what he keeps being seen for.

Acrocyanosis refers to a persistent blue or cyanotic discoloration of the extremities, most commonly occurring in the hands although also occurring in the face and feet as well. [1] [2] [3] The principal form of acrocyanosis is that of a benign cosmetic condition,[1] sometimes caused by a relatively benign neurohormonal disorder.[2] Regardless of its cause, the benign form typically does not require medical treatment

2nd Definition: Acrocyanosis is a decrease in the amount of oxygen delivered to the extremities. The hands and feet turn blue because of the lack of oxygen. Decreased blood supply to the affected areas is caused by constriction or spasm of small blood vessels.

The doctor said there is nothing we can do and he will out grow it probably before his 7th birthday.
