the boys hard at work

Christmas 2010

I think we were all surprised how much Connor "got it" about opening presents and playing with them and not the boxes. He is a big fan of all the new toys and we were very thankful to have Grammie, Grampi and GG (great grandma) make the trip. The boys also framed out the basement in 4 days! With all these new toys mom is more anxious than ever to get the basement finished!

He is learning a new word every day it seems. He is really big right now on "thank you" and "bye bye" but is learning words like "banana" and "eyes" too. Just in the last 2 weeks it seems like a switch went off in his head and he now knows what we are saying.

A visit with Santa

Tuesday night we took Connor to see Mr & Mrs Claus @ our local Skyline Chili. He was all smiles until I tried to put him on Santa's lap. So he didn't like Santa, what he did like was his first cheese coney (chili dog) and hanging out with BJ and Liz.

Medical Update

Connor turns blue zero to three times a day. It can last anywhere from 5 minutes to 3 hours. Dr. Saluke (our pediatrician) has scheduled us to go back to Children's Hospital on January 8th to meet with a rheumatologist to see if it is a circulation issue. In the mean time she said it would be helpful if we took him to Childrens while he is blue so they can read his oxygen levels. Saturday he went blue for the third time in five hours so off we went to our local Chilrens hospital. He was blue when we still got there but after waiting, registering, the nurse asking questions and the doctor actually coming in he wasn't blue any more.
They did a chest x-ray to check his lungs. They found the begining of pnemonia and an ear infection (totally unrealated to his blueness) so he is on antibiotics. This kids is one tough cookie, didn't act upset at all about either. In this picture he is feeding dad some teddy grahams.

200th post

I can't believe we are at our 200th blog update/post. We love having this blog to look back upon. Our little climber is becoming pretty advanced at pulling chairs out and climbing up on the dining room and kitchen tables.

Steak & Shake

Tonight mom and Connor had a first...Steak & Shake. For the first time ever we got Connor his own meal (grilled cheese and fries). He did a good job eating his food and didn't put too much of it on the floor. He didn't want to wear the S&S hat but we couldn't resist.

Carter's Visit

Since the furnace was fixed no blue lips, yea problem solved...not. Connor seemed better for a few days then today walked around for 2 hours with blue hands and lips again. We told the church nursery this morning that we are aware of this new issue, but if they are concerned they could page us. No page. Yesterday our good friends the Nickels were in town from Cleveland. Their little guy Carter is 3 months older than Connor so the two of them tired each other out. I took a bunch of video footage on the camcorder but here is a video I got on the camera. Keep away/pass.

update

Do Connor's lips look blue to you? This isn't the worst we've seen them but we were able to get a picture of it last night in the tub.

One thing the Dr. thought might be the cause was a gas leak. Today I called our electric company out and sure enough they found 3 small leaks in our furnace; which is brand new (installed in April). My jaw hit the floor when he said he found a leak and when he said he had to turn our gas off. I think today was a high in the 20's how can you turn our heat off!

Luckily the company who installed it came out this afternoon and we were only with out heat for 3 hours. Luckily my high school friend had us over for a play date while the house was cold. Thanks Erin & Gianna for hosting!

Give thanks

When we first started our blog it was to brag about our cute baby but after this recent health scare I am even more thankful we have connorraymond.blogspot.com. I can give the story once and the word will spread. Prayers have been answered today as Connor has a strong heart. They ordered blood work to see if Connor shows any signs of a possible gas leak in our house affecting him. They also thought it could be Raynaud's disease but he is pretty young to get this and we have lots of doubts that this is what it is.

Connor screamed, kicked and twisted whenever someone touched him and he ripped the ekg things off of himself multiple times so they called in, Marcie. Marcie is the nurse who can always calm a child down...today Marcie met her match. Our son is very stubborn (not sure where he gets that from :) ), he broke out in hives and wanted nothing to do with the bubbles she was blowing, songs she was singing or toys she was tempting him with.

The picture is from the waiting room. I give a lot of props to the staff, nurses and doctors who work at Childrens Hospital downtown. They were all exceptioaln, warm hearted people with cheerful smiles who are surronded by a lot of sadness. We are a very blessed family!

14 months

Connor is now 14 months and is learning something new every day! Today daycare called to say his hands feed and lips were blue. Jill left work, drove the 40 minutes to daycare then drove the 40 minutes to our old pediatrician's office. Dr. Saluke recommended we see a cardiologist just to be safe. Luckily there was a cancellation so we are going Tuesday at 12:45. Be thinking of Connor tomorrow please.

1st Hair Cut

Now that Connor is one there aren't very many first's any more. He was so proud of him self as he sat in the chair and let Rachel cut his hair. This place (Cookie Cutters) knows what they are doing! They let him sit in a truck and watch Baby Einstein (movie) and when he was done he got to play in the in door play ground. Very cool.

Snowing?

We put Connor in his new (big) snow suit to walk around the neighborhood and look at Christmas lights.

apples and jammies

Connor was home with me today and I made him cooked apples...yum! Ray had a guy come over and water proof the basement...step 1 of 30 to get the basement finished. Then tonight we put Connor in another pair of jammies...I think he's up to 8 pairs, they are just so cute we can't stop buying them.

The Entertainer

We were starting to think Connor would never be able to do these things. Now that we have a 13 month old if you catch him in the right mood he can say "Mama, Dada, no no no, uh oh, bye bye". He can give a high five, wave bye and according to day care will blow kisses.
*This is a new video, I had the wrong one of him up loaded on here...he wasn't doing anything in the last video, ha!

My mom is funny!

Mom & Dad aren't sure if I have the chicken pox or not so they let me skip daycare 2 days this week and wear pj's all day!

Happy Halloween

Last year we held Connor in our arms as we passed out candy. This year he wouldn't let us hold him. Maybe next year we will knock on a few doors. Overall great Halloween, hope yours was good as well!

Grandma Pat came to visit so we could have a date night!

Peak A Boo

Winter pj's are the cutest things ever! Connor out front showing off our green grass and using his cuteness for the good of our school district!

The morning and nights have been pretty chilly around here so we have been bundeling and unbundeling alot around here.

Birthday Cake

Here is Connor enjoying his first birthday cupcake. The next morning he had throw up all over his crib.
His stats at his doctors appt were: 21 pounds, 5 ounces and 29 inches tall. He was in the 25% for both.
